UPDATE: Marietta Intersection Reopens After Power Line Break

The intersection of Pike Street and Acme is reopen after a power line break Thursday night.

One lane of Pike remains closed while crews continue to work on the line.

Power has been restored to nearby businesses.

Officials say workers hit a high voltage underground power line at the intersection when driving a post into the ground.

Marietta officials say traffic is being rerouted at the intersection of Pike and Acme after a power line break Thursday evening.

All four lanes of Pike from Acme to Wayne Streets are closed.

Traffic is being rerouted to Acme Street.

Big Lots is evacuated.

This is a safety issue. Sparks are actively shooting from the wires.

Authorities are concerned nearby transformers could catch fire and blow.

Officials say workers hit a high voltage underground power line at the intersection when driving a post into the ground.

Marietta Fire Department and Marietta Police are on the scene.
