Most years, Cuyahoga County's flu season peaks in March. But public health officials in Cleveland say they had 111 cases in the last full week of December.
Cuyahoga County Health Commissioner Terry Allan says it's likely that more cases have yet to be reported. He continues to urge vaccinations for young children, the elderly and people with chronic illnesses.
Allan also says increased hand washing can help prevent the spread of the flu.
