(AP) -- Ohio University in Athens will get an $80 million gift from the estate of a deceased alumnus. It's the largest gift in school history.
President Roderick McDavis announced the donation Thursday. The money will go toward the school's Engineering College.
The money is coming from the estate of Fritz and Delores Russ, who lived in Dayton.
Fritz Russ graduated from Ohio University in 1942 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
He and his wife started Systems Research Laboratories in 1955. The company specialized in control systems for airplanes.
Mrs. Russ died in January at age 86. Her husband died in 2004.
