(AP) -- Counties along the Ohio River are bracing for possible flooding.
A flood watch remains in effect through Wednesday evening for an area stretching from Kenova to Paden City.
The National Weather Service also has issued a flood watch for Wednesday through Friday afternoon for Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Ohio and Wetzel counties.
The Weather Service says major flooding is possible along the river at Powhatan Point, Ohio, which would also affect Marshall county. Tuesday, the Ohio River's stage in that area was 29.5 feet. Flood stage is 37 feet and the Weather Service says that mark could be reached by Wednesday afternoon.
National Weather Service says minor to moderate flooding is possible in other areas.
