2 Accused Of Joyriding In W.Va. Mortuary's Van

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (AP) - Two Kanawha County men are accused of taking a joyride in a mortuary's van.

The sheriff's department says in a news release that deputies found the suspects sitting in the van outside a convenience store near St. Albans shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the van is registered to Tri-State Mortuary in Poca and is used to transport bodies.

Deputies charged 22-year-old Michael E. Parsons of Cross Lanes with joyriding and operating a vehicle while revoked for driving under the influence. Twenty-seven-year-old John C. Shaver of Nitro was charged with joyriding and obstructing an officer.

Parsons and Shaver are being held at the South Central Regional Jail pending arraignment.
