Jackson, Ohio (AP) -- A 74-year-old southern Ohio man has pleaded guilty to hiring someone to kill his wife in the couple's farmhouse last spring.
David Evans Sr. of Jackson pleaded guilty Friday to conspiracy to commit aggravated murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary. Evans had originally pleaded not guilty in the death of his wife, Carol, who was strangled on March 26, 2008.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jonathan Blanton says he will recommend 10 years in prison for David Evans Sr.
Terry Kinney, who admitted to strangling Carol Evans, is serving an 18-year prison sentence and was prepared to testify against David Evans.
Evans' attorney, Rick Faulkner, says he is confident a judge will agree with the recommendation.
No sentencing date has been set.
Evans faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
