The Head Of WV's Largest Private Insurer Is Stepping Down

Parkersburg, W.Va. (AP) -- The President and Chief Executive of West Virginia's largest private health insurer plans to leave that post on July 1.

Gregory K. Smith led Mountain State Blue Cross Blue Shield for the past 15 years.

In July, Smith will become the Non-Executive Chairman of the board.

In his new role, he will oversee the company's move into its new headquarters in Parkersburg.

Smith is a former State House of Delegates member and has served in a variety of appointed positions on state boards and commissions.

He has been with Mountain State for the past 25 years.
