Highlights of Stimulus Road Project List

West Virginia hopes to tap the federal stimulus legislation's highway funds for 109 projects together worth $215 million. The following lists the road-focused projects, by county and with their names as listed and the specific roadway when available.

Several local projects are included in Jackson, Pleasants and Ritchie Countines.

New construction:
--Grant/Tucker: Corridor H, W.Va. 93, $21 million.
--Greenbrier: Charmco Mountain Truck Climbing Lane, W.Va. 20, $2.64 million.
--Jefferson: Corridor Expansion, W.Va. 9, Shenandoah River Bridge-Va. State line, $29 million.
--Monongalia: Mon/Fayette Expressway, $14.9 million.
--Raleigh: Corridor Expansion, East Beckley Bypass, Grey Flts Road-Cranberry Creek $32 million.
--Taylor: Safety, Climbing Lane, U.S. 50, $3.5 million.

--Fayette: Chimney Corner, U.S. 60, $210,000.
--Nicholas: Curtin, W.Va. 20, $210,000.
--Raleigh: Metalton Road, W.Va. 3, $325,000.
--Tyler: W.Va. 18, $985,000.
--Wayne: Bethesda Road, W.Va. 37, $250,000.
--Pendleton: Franklin-Va. Line, U.S. 220, $1 million.

Paving:
--Berkeley: Falling Waters-Maryland State Line, Interstate 81, $3.3 million; Virginia State Line-Inwood, I-81, $1.9 million.
--Boone: Peytona-Racine, W.Va. 3, $668,000.
--Braxton: Coon Knob-Gassaway Road, I-79, $3.013 million.
--Cabell: Milton to County Road 60/19, I-64, $936,000.
--Calhoun: Grantsville-Smithville, W.Va. 16, $500,000.
--Fayette: Kincaid-Page, W.Va. 61, $595,000.
--Greenbrier: Harts Run, I-64, $3.48 million; Alta, I-64, $1.68 million.
--Hampshire: Romney Street, U.S. 50, $4 million.
--Jackson: Ripley-Frozencamp, U.S. 33, $1.5 million.
--Kanawha: Hernshaw-Marmet, W.Va. 94, $2.208 million.

--Marshall/Ohio: McMehen-Wheeling, U.S. 250, $5.7 million.

--Mineral: Resurfacing, Mineral Street, U.S. 220, $800,000.

--Tucker: Parsons-Mackeyville, U.S. 219, $900,000.
--Upshur: French Creek-Adrain Road, W.Va. 20, $400,000; Buckhannon-Elkins, U.S. 33, $1.7 million.
--Wayne: Stonecoal Road-Mingo County Line, U.S. 52, $1.5 million; W.Va. 75-Whites Creek Road, U.S. 52, $1.1 million.
