Cincinnati (AP) -- An Ohio Grand Jury has indicted a registered sex offender on 12 counts involving the slayings of two girls and a woman in cases dating back to 2006.
The Hamilton County Grand Jury on Tuesday indicted 40-year-old Anthony Kirkland on charges of aggravated murder and attempted rape in the recent death of 13-year-old Esme Kenney. The indictment also charges Kirkland with murdering a 14-year-old girl and a 45-year-old woman whose bodies were found in 2006.
Kirkland was arrested on a murder charge after Cincinnati Police found him near Kenney's partially burned body in woods near her home March 8. Police say she left her home the day before to go jogging.
He was being held on $5.3 million bail. A message was left for his attorney.
