Charleston, WV (AP) -- Division of Natural Resources biologists are predicting slighter higher kills during West Virginia's spring turkey season.
Hunters will take to the woods on April 27 for the start of the nearly monthlong season.
Biologists say good weather last spring helped increase the state's turkey population and they expect at least 10,000 gobblers will be killed statewide this year.
Last year's kill was just shy of the 10,000 mark.
Hunters can start their daily hunts 30 minutes before sunrise, but must stop shooting by 1 p.m.
The DNR says this year's bag limit is two gobblers per hunter.
The season ends on May 23.
