Charleston, WV (AP) -- West Virginia is getting $1.7 million to support what the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency calls clean diesel projects.
The money from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act goes to the Department of Environmental Protection's Diesel Emission Reduction program.
The state can use it for things like retrofitting engines, replacing diesel-burning vehicles and supporting new technologies that make diesel burn cleaner.
EPA says the program is designed to create jobs, reduce health problems and clean up the air.
Every state gets the same amount.
