Charleston, WV (AP) -- A West Virginia company has acquired the Greenbrier and plans to ask a bankruptcy court to dismiss the resort's case.

The Greenbrier and Jim Justice announced Thursday that Justice's company, Beckley-based Justice Family Group, acquired the Greenbrier's holding company's stock.

They didn't provide details of the transaction.

Justice family group also acquired 80 percent of the Greenbrier Sporting Club, a private residential development on the southeastern West Virginia resort's grounds.

If the bankruptcy court approves the deal, it would end nearly a century of ownership by railroad company CSX Corp.

And its predecessors.

CSX chairman, President and CEO Michael Ward called the transaction a "great result" for the resort and CSX.
