Toledo, Ohio (AP) -- A federal judge in Ohio is rejecting a request for a new trial in the case of two men convicted of plotting to recruit and train terrorists to kill American soldiers in Iraq.
U.S. District Judge Judge James Carr in Toledo also said no Friday to throwing out the convictions of the two.
Mohammad Amawi and Marwan El-Hindi were found guilty last june of organizing a plot against U.S. soldiers.
They're now awaiting sentencing and could get up to life in prison.
The FBI says the two and another man, who also was convicted, met in Toledo and began plotting and training to help insurgents in Iraq.
