Kent, Ohio (AP) -- The case of an Oregon woman charged with killing a pregnant friend and cutting the baby from her womb is bringing back grim memories in northeast Ohio.
In September 2000, Michelle Bica of Kent committed suicide five days after she lured 23-year-old Theresa Andrews to her home, killed her with a single shot to the back and cut her baby from her womb.
Police say Bica had claimed for months that she was pregnant.
She passed the baby off as her own until she killed herself when police arrived to question her.
In Oregon, police say Korena Roberts claimed she was pregnant, though authorities say that was likely a false cover story.
Roberts is accused of cutting open 21-year-old Heather Snively to take her baby and pass it off as her own.
