Lebanon, Ohio (AP) -- Prosecutors who won a murder conviction against an Ohio man accused of drowning his wife in a bathtub are making more arguments against a retrial.
Warren County Prosecutors filed additional court briefs on Wednesday to knock down defense claims that another trial is warranted because some jurors said they conducted experiments to confirm testimony by expert witnesses.
A judge is considering a motion for a new trial for 28-year-old Ryan Widmer, who was convicted in April in the death of 24-year-old Sarah Widmer last year.
Defense lawyers say any experiments by jurors were improper.
Prosecutors contend that jury members did nothing that would have denied Widmer a fair trial.
