Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- About 80 members of a Dunbar-based West Virginia National Guard unit are preparing for a one-year tour of duty in Iraq.
A deployment ceremony is set for 3:45 p.m. Friday at the Embassy Suites hotel in Charleston.
About 80 members of the 151st Military Police Battalion are scheduled to leave Saturday.
They will conduct pre-deployment training at Fort Bliss in Texas before going to Iraq later this year.
The guard says the soldiers will train Iraqi forces to conduct security and police operations.
