Appliance Rebates Still Open To W.V. Residents

Appliance Rebates Still Open To W.V. Residents

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia residents who replaced older appliances with energy-efficient models in the past year can still apply for mail-in rebates through a state program.

About $20,000 in rebates are available through the program administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection.

The rebates are for washers, dishwashers and refrigerators bought after June 17, 2010. Rebates are no longer available for freezers and room air conditioners.

The funds became available because some customers completed an online rebate but never mailed in the proper paperwork. Others who applied didn't meet eligibility requirements.

The available rebates are $75 for washers, $50 and $75 for dishwashers and $100 for refrigerators.
