FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. (AP) - Brooke County Sheriff Chuck Jackson says one person is dead after an early morning house explosion in West Virginia's Northern Panhandle.

He says three others have been injured.

No names were immediately released.

The explosion happened early Friday morning in the Hooverson Heights neighborhood just outside Follansbee.

Deputy Emergency Management Director Marlene Whitco tells media outlets that investigators haven't determined the cause of the explosion.

But she said other residents were not evacuated.
