The Newport and New Matamoras food pantries have something to celebrate this holiday season. 392 cans from Frontier High School were collected through a food drive organized by four ambitious sophomores.
Jessi Crosby, CJ Cunningham, Christen Canter ,and Emily Lemasters recently attended a leadership conference at Wright State University where they were inspired by Patrick Klein of PB&J Consultants and the iBelieve Foundation. They were challenged by Klein and then set the goal for themselves of 300 cans school wide.
A proud school principal, Jack Mental, said he was very excited they were able to have such a positive impact on the community, “I am very proud of the kids who organized and grateful to all who participated in making this a success.”
Pizza parties were held for the homerooms with the greatest participation, which included Mr. Murphy, Ms. Alden, and Ms. Kincaid’s classes.
