MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Services are set for a Monongalia County sheriff's deputy who died in the line of duty.
The service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday for Deputy Michael May at Chestnut Church in Cheat Lake. A burial will follow in Waynesburg, Pa.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has ordered all state and U.S. flags at state facilities to be flown at half-staff Friday to honor May.
The 41-year-old Morgantown resident was killed last Saturday after his stopped patrol car was struck by a hit-and-run suspect on Interstate 79 in western Pennsylvania.
Monongalia County Sheriff Al Kisner says 35-year-old Jerod Alan Green of Morgantown faces multiple charges in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
May's family is asking that memorials be sent in the form of contributions to the Monongalia County Deputy Sheriff's Association.
