ZANESVILLE, Ohio (AP) - Police in central Ohio say a man fatally shot a woman after she broke into his apartment.
Officers say the man was wounded in the exchange of gunfire with the woman early Thursday at the apartment in Zanesville, about 50 miles east of Columbus.
Killed was 39-year-old Kristina Lynne Holskey after she broke into the home of 46-year-olf Terry McConnell. McConnell was shot in the stomach and was hospitalized in serious condition.
Police reports said Holskey broke into the house and shot McConnell first. Holskey was alive when officers arrived but died later at a hospital.
McConnell's preteen son was in the apartment but was not hurt.
Media reports say Holskey had an extensive record in the city municipal court, with charges including domestic violence, petty theft and menacing.
