COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The State Highway Patrol says seven people were killed in six crashes in Ohio between early Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The patrol is urging drivers to help bring a safe end to the year by wearing a seatbelt and not driving while impaired. Two of the deaths this week were attributed to impaired driving. Seat belts were worn in three of the crashes.
Last year, six people died in crashes over the same two-day in Ohio.
So far this year, troopers say they have arrested more than 23,000 motorists for impaired driving.
