SPENCER, W.Va. (AP) - The State Fire Marshal's Office says a Roane County man died from injuries suffered when an oil drum exploded.
The Fire Marshal's Office tells media outlets 24-year-old Charles Starcher of Spencer was cutting into the side of the 155-gallon drum at his home when it exploded last week. Starcher had planned to dismantle the drum and scrap it.
Starcher suffered burns over 75 percent of his body. The Fire Marshal's Office says he died Saturday night.
A 15-year-old boy who was working with Starcher was treated at a Huntington hospital for burns and was released.
