CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Sen. Jay Rockefeller is having a second surgery on a bum knee.
The West Virginia Democrat's office announced Tuesday that he'll undergo routine surgery next week to resolve some stiffness and pain.
Rockefeller tore a tendon above his left knee in 2009 and underwent surgery to fix it at the time. Doctors are now recommending a follow-up operation.
Rockefeller says that aside from the stiff knee, he gets a clean bill of health in every annual physical.
The surgery is set for Aug. 8 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
He says he'll keep working during his rehabilitation.
