CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Two teams of ghost hunters will face off at the former West Virginia Penitentiary in Moundsville for a new Travel Channel show.
In an episode of "Paranormal Challenge" airing at 9 p.m. Friday, the Northeastern Spirits Society of Fairmont and West Virginia Paranormal of Morgantown compete to collect the most evidence of paranormal activity.
The teams were locked into sections of the Civil War-era prison known for violence earlier this year.
Show spokeswoman Erika Lewis tells the Daily Mail there are no prizes for the winning team, just bragging rights.
Daniel Bellay is lead investigator for the Northeastern Spirit Society.
He says his year-old group often hunts for ghosts at the former psychiatric hospital in Weston now known as the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum.
