CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The executive director of the West Virginia Democratic Party is stepping down.
Derek Scarbro announced Thursday that he will leave the position in March.
Scarbro says in a news release that he wants to gives the party's leaders time to find a replacement and to help provide a smooth transition.
He has served as the party's executive director for more than nine years.
State Democratic chairman Larry Puccio plans to announce a successor in the coming weeks.
