Help feed the hungry in Wood County by leaving non-perishable items near your mailbox on Saturday for your mail carrier to pick up during the Stamp out Hunger Food Drive.
It’s the 21st annual National Association of Letter Carriers event.
Local school children had the opportunity to bring items to school all week to benefit the Latrobe Street mission.
The homeless shelter is in dire need of blankets, pillows, paper towels, soup, granola bars and much more.
“I just asked the kids at Vienna Elementary School and Neale Elementary School to collect items for the Latrobe Street Mission and they've just done a wonderful job bringing in items all week long,” says Roger Francis, a local letter carrier.
Francis says this time of year pantries in our area and across the nation are running low.
So it's very important to donate to your local pantry.
