A new pilot program keeping our road ways safe, has now come to Washington County.
Buckeye Hills met with Washington County Commissioners Thursday about the Regional Transportation Planning Organization Pilot Program.
This new pilot program is being run by Transportation Manager, Karen Pawloski.
It is looking to make travel in rural areas safer.
"Our hope is to bring more of a public involvement into this process where as maybe before, it wasn't as much. So a lot of times, these projects seem to happen kind of outside of a lot of input rural communities or rural leaders or rural elected officials," says Buckeye Hills Development Director and GIS Manager, Bret Allphin.
Buckeye Hills was one of five selected to participate in the program which is funded by the Ohio Department Of Transportation (ODOT).
