It's that time of year again, Belpre is gearing up for the 81st Homecoming Celebration.

Homecoming is an important rite of passage for the city.

People don't see each other that often, so they can catch up, mix, mingle and have a good time before everyone heads back to school or work this fall.

“We believe that this year is going to be one of those years that the weather cooperates, that everyone's really happy with the performers, they get to support our homecoming by buying a duck pluck ticket,” says Karen Waller, executive director of the Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce. “We're going to pluck winning ducks out of the municipal pool and it will allow people to have a good ending to the summer with a cash prize.”

Waller says there's something for everyone.

Taking the stage Thursday night, August 1st... Chase Likens, a fan favorite from “American Idol.”

Friday, August 2nd... rising country star Joel Crouse and Saturday, August 3rd, several local bands, including JINXD and Titus Canbe are performing.. and the chance to win money at the Duck Pluck.

As always there will be pageants, homemade and traditional fair food and area vendors selling crafts and more.
