People got to learn some more history on the Buckeye State Thursday night at the Campus Martius Museum.

The Civil War Roundtable of the Mid-Ohio Valley discussed the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Buffington Island.

Local historians spoke of the confederate Brigadier-General John Hunt Morgan's 1863 raid through Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.

And a detailed study of the geography, logistics and personalities that contributed the conflict at Buffington Island.

"In Ohio history, Buffington is important because it was the only Civil War battle on Ohio's soil. Actually, it was a battle that three future presidents all from Ohio took part in," says Civil War Roundtable of the Mid-Ohio Valley Board Member, William Reynolds.

There was also a special first hand report by local re-enactors who played part in the Commemoration of the Battle of Gettysburg.
