An update to a murder in Morgan County. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office completes its preliminary investigation into the death of 46-year-old Lisa Kangas.
Her body was pulled from the Muskingum river on Friday morning March 28th.
Kangas was killed on Tuesday, March 25th. Authorities were not notified until the night of Thursday, March 27th.
22-year-old Jacob Harrod, who is Kangas' son, is charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
Harrod's bond is $750,000. He's being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 46-year old woman Thursday night.
A sheriff's office news release says the woman's body was found Friday morning shortly after 8 A.M. in the Muskingum River.
It happened on State Route 60 in Bloom Township, north of McConnelsville.
It's believed the woman was killed by a 22-year old male. The sheriff's office is releasing no other information.
The M and M Fire Department and emergency squad, the county prosecuting attorney, county coroner and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification are helping out in the investigation.
