Kids and parents participated in a pageant to help area women in need.
Janette Carpenter Hart along with Camden Clark Medical Hospital held the first annual Breast Cancer Awareness pageant at the Parkersburg Art Center Saturday afternoon.
Kids of all ages decked out in pink as they competed for crowns and trophies.
All proceeds will help women across the valley pay for their mammograms.
"Cancer has touched all of our lives in some way, shape or form. For me personally, my step mom, Donna Shaver who is back in Pennsylvania, is a three year breast cancer survivor and so for me to do this is not only a tribute to her but a tribute to all the cancer survivors," says 2013-14 Pure American Majestic National Queen, Christina McMahon.
Those in attendance bid on silent auction items from local vendors.
