For those in need of a warm place to stay, the area's shelters are opening the doors and turning on the heat and the hospitality.
The Latrobe Street Mission is one of many homeless shelters in Parkersburg keeping everyone warm in the cold weather.
Officials at the mission say they've been full of people for about a week.
The mission has a check in and check out procedure for those staying at the shelter that way they always know who's there.
"Well basically, we keep the coffee pot going, a lot of people come in, get warm, get a bowl of soup, you know whatever they need and for the residents that are staying here which I'm taking care of. I have plenty of blankets at night so they can stay warm," says Latrobe Street Mission Associate Director, Brenda Ridgeway.
At this time, people can stay at the shelter as long as they need to.
