A group of women held a spaghetti dinner Saturday afternoon to honor a Wood County Sheriff Deputy's wife who's battling cancer.
The Law Enforcement Wives of Wood County put on the dinner for Angie Bussey, the wife of Wood County Sheriff's Sergeant Dave Bussey.
Angie is diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and recently had a Bone Marrow Transplant.
Everyone gathered at South Parkersburg Baptist Church to chow down on some spaghetti and help raise money for Angie's medical and personal expenses.
"We are all thrilled to be able to help out the Bussey family at this point and time. This has been really hard and she's still fighting the battle. It's gonna to take a long time for her to recover, so for us to be able to do this and for the opportunity to do it, I think we're all grateful for the opportunity," says Maryann Hollis of the Law Enforcement Wives of Wood County.
Some made get well soon cards for Angie and enjoyed face painting and raffle drawings.
They have raised over $6,000 through private donations so far.
