Lafayette Hotel is host to the oldest and largest blues talent competition in the Buckeye State this weekend.
The Blues, Jazz and Folk Music Society of Ohio hosted the 21st annual River City Blues Competition.
Various local bands took the stage playing the guitar, drums and most importantly showcasing their singing ability.
The first place winner will receive $1,000 in cash and a chance to compete for sponsorship at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis next year.
But for one band, it's not about winning and losing.
"It gives our name out there, you know, makes people more aware of what we're doing, what kind of music we're playing and stuff and hopefully it might lead to further shows either in this area or elsewhere," says Chris Shepard of Vinnie and the Lubricators Band.
The River City Blues Competition welcomes bands from across the country to take part in the contest.
