It's been 12 years since JonBenet Ramsey was murdered and the news that the family is free from suspicion is not new for some.
Wednesday prosecutors said new DNA tests cleared the child's family in her death.
Linda McLean of Parkersburg knew JonBenet's mother, Patsy Paugh Ramsey, didn't do it.
She coached Patsy in speech and debate at Parkersburg High School and when Patsy became Miss West Virginia in the seventies.
"She would always say we know the truth, it doesn't matter what the tabloids say," said Linda McLean.
"My biggest concern and so has his (JonBenet's father,John Ramsey) always been, if it wasn't them, then the guy who did it is still out there doing it."
McLean said Patsy had such a strong faith and was the leader of the family when they were bombarded with the media and doubts from others arose.
Patsy was born and raised in Parkersburg. She died two years ago of ovarian cancer at the age of 49.
McLean is also the author of the book, "Jon Benet's Mother: The Tragedy and The Truth!"
