Habitat For Humanity celebrates 25 years of service to the community with a groundbreaking ceremony for Wood County's 63 Habitat home.

Sunday afternoon Wood County broke ground on their special anniversary home. In a few months the home will belong to the Sims/Lent family.

Habitat officials say over the course of 25 years they've made hundreds of happy memories but nothing compares to meeting the families Habitat works with.

"The one that is the most important, and the most significant, and the dearest to my heart is getting to meet the partner families," says Lora Pierce, the Executive Director of Habitat For Humanity West Virginia. "Meeting the people who will be moving into their Habitat homes, seeing the children who know they have a new bedroom and a new yard to play in. That really is the best thing about being a part of Habitat."

Pierce says Habitat for Humanity is always looking for partner families. To see if you and your family qualify to become a Habitat for Humanity partner family click on the link below.
