If you're a Washington County resident, you may have recently received a notification in the mail about registering to vote.
This year, in that same envelope, they've added an application to get an absentee ballot.
Peggy Byers, director of the board of elections, says the applications were sent out just a couple of weeks ago, and so far more than 4,000 people have registered to vote with an absentee ballot.
"Not everyone understood that anyone can absentee vote. You don't need a reason anymore in the state of Ohio," Byers said.
Now if you want to vote absentee every election, you have to apply every time.
