On this date three years ago, it was election day in the Mid-Ohio Valley and at 9:02 p.m. a New Matamoras family welcomed five new additions.

You may remember these five when we videotaped them in 2005.
Now Hope, Grace, Noah, Elijah, and Faith are three years old and are going to preschool.

They're not only growing in inches but also in their personalities.

"Three years in and it's not gotten any easier, it's not really any harder, it's kind of the same you know. Things change, they feed themselves now but now they're going to potties," said their mother Gretchen Slaughter.

She said the family has "uncles and aunts that come over and help us and they're just completely wonderful which we couldn't have done it without grandma, grandpa, aunts, and uncles."

One set of grandparents live with the Slaughter family to help out. She said the father, David, works a lot but they usually have three to four adults helping each day.

"I have good support and good family and friends and a great community. Couldn't ask for more, this place has been just so good to us," she said.
