When you think of cops, safety or slowing down your vehicle are some things that come to mind.
However, Sunday afternoon 100 kids had the opportunity to shop with a cop.
The Fraternal Order of Police in Wood County gave a $100 gift card to each child and went shopping with them at Wal-Marts in Vienna and South Parkersburg.
The FOP says it's good for the kids and the local law enforcement agencies.
"It gives them a positive aspect of us, and the policemen even enjoy it. Normally we're dealing with the bad part of life as well, and this gives us a chance to slow down and actually do something positive," Matt Board, FOP president, said.
The kids receiving this early holiday gift were selected by the DHHR, Kids First and the Women's Shelter in South Parkersburg.
