A Marietta man convicted of several charges in connection with the sexual assault of a 16-year-old boy, learned his fate in court Tuesday.
Clayton Books was sentenced Tuesday morning to six years in prison.
Books was previously found guilty of rape, attempted rape, and 2 counts of kidnapping.
Washington County Assistant Prosecutor Kevin Rings said the results of the sentencing is a relief for the victim.
"His fear was that he'd run into him in a few months out on the street, and I think we can tell him now that that's really just not going to happen," Rings said.
Books is currently serving in the Washington County jail and will be sent to a prison in Orient Ohio.
After his sentence is up, Books will have five years of post release control.
