Weirton, WV (AP) -- The search has been scaled back for a 26-year-old deckhand from Pittsburgh who fell from a coal barge into the Ohio River.
Ed Gotschall, fire chief in Stratton, Ohio, said Friday that authorities and the barge owner have decided to send volunteer searchers and their boats home.
But divers are still looking for Michael Harvey, who fell into the river Monday as the barge unloaded coal at a power plant.
The Jefferson County sheriff's office in ohio said it would keep a boat out and wait for harvey to resurface.
A team from Marion Hill Diving Co. searched a large underwater debris field thursday after cadaver dogs hit on a scent, but they could not find Harvey.
Gotschall says they want to continue searching the debris field by hand.
