Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- State health officials say the number of confirmed swine flu cases in West Virginia has more than doubled this week to 59, including 36 in Wood County alone.

The State Department of Health and Human Resources reported Thursday that one case has required hospitalization and six involve out-of-state residents.

In Wood County, the number of cases has more than tripled this week. Dr. Sherif Ibrahim, a regional epidemiologist for the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department, says 28 teenagers are among the confirmed cases.

Eleven counties now have confirmed cases: Berkeley, Boone, Cabell, Greenbrier, Hancock, Kanawha, Lincoln, Monongalia, Putnam, Raleigh and Wood.

Crystal, what the heck are you talking about? WHAT went missing from the lab? You'd better be darn sure of your facts before you go posting something spurious like that wild accusation. Either cite your source, or else risk arrest for spreading panic. I'm not kidding. They can track your IP address and find out who you are.

first off we should have shut down the border when this all happened and it wouldn't have put all of our familys in danger. Second, if our gov. didn't produce such a toxic flu we would never had this problem it seems wierd that when it came up missing from the lap and now it is spreading all over the world.
