Cincinnati (AP) -- Teens in Cincinnati who want to develop their interest and skills in song writing and performing now have a music resource center.
It's been operating out of Withrow High School, but its founder hope to finish work soon on a permanent home in a former union hall.
The aim of the music resource center is to use music education and performance to teach life skills and build self-confidence among inner-city youths.
Founder Karen D'agostino Patterned the Cincinnati center after the original music resource center that the Dave Matthews Band sponsored in Charlottesville, VA.
Staffers from the Charlottesville center are helping the fledging Cincinnati center get started.
