South Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency says the deadline for seeking disaster assistance from early May storms is approaching.

FEMA said Tuesday people who suffered losses have until July 14 to apply.

Assistance is available to people who work, live or own businesses in Calhoun, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Raleigh or Wyoming counties. All are covered by a federal disaster declaration issued in May.

FEMA says victims can call 800-621-3362 from 7 a.m. To 10 p.m. daily or can register at www.disasterassistance.gov.

The agency says people who've already registered have until July 14 to return their Small Business Administration application forms.
