Institute, W.Va. (Ap) -- West Virginia is planning its first training academy for service providers who help crime victims.
The Victim Assistance Academy will be held July 26 through July 31 at West Virginia State University in Institute.
The academy will provide training on victims' rights and victim services.
Sessions include navigating the criminal justice system and the trauma of being a victim.
State and court officials say the goal is to enhance services provided to crime victims in the state.
