A stimulus project in Meigs County is complete, and now drivers can have a safer and smoother commute.

The seven mile resurfacing of Ohio State Route 7 has wrapped up, and Congressman Charlie Wilson was in the area Wednesday to see the progress firsthand.

Wilson says the project cost about $1.4 million in stimulus funds, and believes it was money well spent.

"It's a way to use our government money to be able to put people to work, and that's what we've done with this project. And I think that's why you're starting to see some of the glimmers of recovery in the economy," Rep. Wilson, Ohio District 6, said.

Congressman Wilson says there are ten stimulus projects in District 6 at this time.

He also says only 25 percent of stimulus funds have been spent so far.
