Harpers Ferry, W.Va. (AP) -- The U.S. Marine band will perform at a free public concert Labor Day weekend at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.
The Harpers Ferry-Bolivar Veterans Association is co-sponsoring the show on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
The concert will be behind the Mather Training Center.
Harpers ferry sits at the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers on the Virginia border.
It was the site of abolitionist John Brown's failed raid on a federal arsenal, now considered a key event leading up to the Civil war.
In October, the park will commemorate the 150th anniversary of that raid.
