Cincinnati (AP) -- President Barack Obama is coming to Ohio on Labor Day and will use the visit to try to drum up support for his health care overhaul.
The White House said Monday that the President will attend the Cincinnati AFL-CIO's annual Labor Day picnic Sept. 7 at the Coney Island Amusement Park southeast of downtown.
Hamilton County democratic party chairman Tim Burke says union members were part of the base that helped elect Obama and need to be rallied to get on board with his health plan.
Local GOP chairman Alex Triantafilou says Obama is trying to sell a program Americans don't want and is helping the republican cause, even in the gop stronghold of southwest Ohio.
The visit will be Obama's first to Cincinnati as President.
