Charleston, W.Va. (AP) -- The State Capitol Complex will be turned into a fire hall this weekend as firefighters from across the region engage in a test of skills.
Charleston is among 25 stops on this year's Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge Nationwide Tour.
The event is expected to pit firefighters from West Virginia and surrounding states against each other.
Contestants will compete in five events, each covering a different aspect of firefighting.
Firefighters must drag fire hoses up stairs, navigate an obstacle course as well as demonstrate their ability to drag a 175-pound dummy 100 feet.
Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge founder Paul Davis says the capitol complex was picked for the Friday and Saturday event because of its location along the Kanawha River.
